What counts as news here
A specification change counts. A price that moves counts, because on this side of the market the price is part of the specification — the same chassis ships with three different panels and two different storage configurations, and which one you can buy this month is the whole story. A press release that repeats last year's numbers in a new font does not count, and neither does a benchmark run we cannot see the conditions for.
Where the numbers come from
Model pages in this archive carry the specification as the maker published it, at the time it was published. We do not retro-fit them with today's figures: a 2010 netbook page that says eight hours of battery life is a record of the claim made in 2010, and it is more useful as that than as a guess at what the battery does now. Where a later revision changed the specification, that revision gets its own entry rather than overwriting the old one.
Reading the feed
Each item shows the section it was filed under and the date it went up. The archive holds 2 208 model pages across 23 brands, spanning 2009–2025, and the feed is the thin end of it — if you are looking for a particular machine, the brand board on the front page or the full archive will get you there faster than scrolling.
