A colour edition is a marketing move with a real consequence. The chassis, the board and the cooling stay as they were; what changes is the lid finish, and finish decides how the machine looks after a year of use. A glossy painted lid shows fingerprints and fine scratches, a dark one shows dust, and a brushed or textured surface hides both while being harder to clean.

Worth knowing whenever a release like this appears: the colour variant usually ships with one fixed configuration per market, so the choice of shade can quietly decide the processor, the memory and the drive you end up with. Check the specification per colour rather than assuming they match, and check whether the whole palette is sold in your country — regional ranges differ, and a shade shown in a press photo is often the one that never reached the shops.
