I-O Data has currently unveiled its latest external Blu-ray writer in the Japan market, the BRD-UT12. The new drive is used a USB 3.0 interface and write speeds of up to 12x for BD-R discs.
The I-O Data BRD-UT12 external Blu-ray burner has 4MB of cache memory and a connection status LED. It is supports write speeds of BD-RE at 2x, DVD-R/+R at 16x, DVD-RAM at 12x, DVD-R/+R DL and DVD+RW at 8x, DVD-RW at 6x, CD-R at 48x, and CD-RW at 24x.
Cost of I-O Data BRD-UT12 is 22,100 Yen (about $270).
