Panasonic today announced upgrades to its Panasonic Toughbook CF-52 semi-rugged notebook and the business-rugged Toughbook CF-T8 tablet-alternative notebook computer, adding increased processor speeds, memory and Gobi mobile technology.
The Panasonic Toughbook CF-52 gets a new Intel Core i5-540M (up to 2.53GHz) processor, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, 250GB shock mounted HDD, 15.4″ Active Matrix (TFT) colour LCD display with resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 512MB graphics card, Windows 7 Professional OS. The machine also gets a new range of wireless connectivity options including the Gobi 2000 multiple carrier mobile broadband modem, WiFi, and Bluetooth, 3G mobile broadband and, in the near future, WiMax modules can be optionally embedded into the same unit, permitting a high level of flexibility for mobile data access.
