The Dynabook UX / NB200 netbook has only been out for a few months now, but already Toshiba’s looking to score a few more buyers with two new hues. Originally launched in white, brown and black, Tosh has decided to queue up a pair of fresher, brighter colors for those looking for something a bit different. Now, you can expect the lappie to start making the rounds in “silky pink” and “blue,” though we get the feeling these will hit the UK first. Head on down to the read link for a hands-on gallery, but don’t expect any exciting new hardware — it’s still the same ole 1.6GHz Atom, 1GB of RAM and 160GB hard drive that we’re so painfully used to seeing.

who do you turn to when it comes to choosing a machine to help see you through the college years or one that is suitable for everyday use in both the home and at the office? Toshiba is one of the more reliable brands out there, although their releases hasn’t been exactly exciting enough in terms of being fashionable, although their notebooks have been pretty reliable in their own right judging by user feedback over the years. Well, Toshiba is back with a new Satellite L Series of notebooks which will target budget-conscious consumers as well as “Back-to-School” shoppers, striking a careful balance between style, performance and cost with prices starting from a somewhat high end netbook level – $549.99.

There are four model classes available from the Satellite L Series, where the first of them would be the lightweight 14″ Satellite L510/L515, followed by the versatile 15.6″ and 16″ Satellite L500/L505 with the larger 17.3″ Satellite L550/L555 desktop replacement leading the bunch in terms of system specifications. All four systems will come with interesting features including HD TruBrite widescreen displays, USB Sleep-and-Charge and hard drives ranging from 250GB to 500GB. Apart from that, you also get a whole host of expansion ports, Wi-Fi connectivity to get you surfing no matter where you are and a choice of either Intel or AMD processor if you’re a fan of either camp.

All of these new Toshiba notebooks are RoHS-compatible, where they effectively reducing the environmental impact by restricting the use of lead, mercury and certain other hazardous substances. The packaging is also made out of 90% recyclable materials alongside mercury-free LED displays. You can pick up the Satellite L500/L505 from $549.99 upwards, while the Satellite L510/L515 is going from $649.99 with the Satellite L550/L555 starting from $649.99.
