Sony has announced the new VAIO F Series multimedia and entertainment laptop which is based on Intel’s Huron River platform. This laptop packs the power and state-of-the-art performance of a full-sized PC into a portable design.

The Sony VAIO F Series is powered by an Intel Core i7 (i7-2630QM, i7-2720QM or i7-2820QM) quad-core processor, a 16.4-inch (1920 x 1080) display (optionally, you can get a 3D screen), up to 8GB of DDR3 SDRAM, up to 640GB HDD or 256GB/512GB SSD, and a 512MB GeForce GT 520M or 1GB GT 540M graphics card.

Other specifications include a DVD or Blu-ray drive, a HD webcam, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, two USB 3.0 ports, an SD card slot, and a HDMI output, and a sound system backed by the S-Force Front Surround 3D technology.

The new Sony VAIO F Series comes in silver, matte black or a premium white Signature Collection model, and starting price of $1,100.

Sony has unveiled the new Sony VAIO F Series laptop that 3D technology includes comfortable, 3D active glasses that unleash a jaw-dropping 3D experience, you can even convert 2D HD video into 3D in real time with a push of the 3D button.

The Sony VAIO F Series laptop features a 120Hz Full HD LED-backlit display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, powerful second-gen processor power, NVIDIA graphics, up to 8GB of RAM and a 7200rpm hard drive or solid state drive, a Blu-ray combo drive, an S-Force Front Surround 3D system, and a HDMI output, and runs Windows 7 Home Premium.

The Sony VAIO F 3D laptop will be available for pre-order in February starting at $1,700.

Sony has upgraded the VAIO F Series laptop with 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 425M mobile GPU. The Sony VAIO F Series is powered by a 1.73GHz Intel Core i7-740QM processor, a 16.4-inch screen with resolution of 1600 x 900 or 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD), a 500/750GB hard drive, and up to 8GB of 1333MHZ DDR3 RAM.

The Sony VAIO F Series are equipped with two USB 2.0 ports, one eSATA/USB combo, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, HDMI output, D-Sub, ExpressCard/34 slot, Memory Stick slot, SD Memory Card slot, 0.3MP Web camera, audio input jack, and Lithium-ion battery. It is pre-installed with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit OS.
