Samsung will release a new slim portable DVD write, called the SE-208AB. The new SE-208AB drive features an aero-dynamic sleek design with a hi-glossy surface and easily connect via AV connectivity function on multimedia TVs with an available USB port.

Samsung SE-208AB is also capable to write speeds of up to 8x DVD+/-R, 6x DVD+R DL, 6x DVD-R DL, 8x DVD+RW, 6x DVD-RW, 5x DVD-RAM, and up to 24x CD-R/RW.

Cost of Samsung SE-208AB portable DVD write is $39 and will be available in August 2011.

Samsung has announced the SE-S084F external DVD writer, designed for use with netbook and PC.

Dimensions of Samsung SE-084F are 13.7 x 14.6 x 1.7 cm and weight 200 grams. No AC adapter is needed as the SAMSUNG DVD Writers are USB powered. Just simply plug it to the USB port to get power and no need to worry about the AC Adaptor. This model supports both 12 cm & 8 cm discs.

The external drive provides a variety of speeds across different data media types including: up to 8x for DVD-R/DVD+R and DVD+RW, 6x for DVD-R/+R DL, DVD-RW, 5x for DVD-RAM and 24x for CD-R/-RW.
