Panasonic has introduced the thin-and-light Toughbook F9 business-rugged laptop. The new device weighs in at a mere 3.6 pounds, making it the industry’s lightest 14” class laptop. The Toughbook F9 is powered by a 2.4GHz Intel Core i5-520M processor (up to 2.93 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost technology), 2GB of DDR3 RAM 1066 GHz, 320GB hard drive, a 14.1-inch  widescreen LED backlighting display with resolution of 1440×900 pixels and anti-glare, a DVD burner, up to 7 hour battery life.

Other specs include Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, an option for WiMAX (4G) or Gobi2000 (3G) mobile broadband technology from Qualcomm. It is pre-loaded with Windows 7 Professional and able downgrade to Windows XP.

The Panasonic Toughbook F9 will be available in the United States in July 1st 2010, priced from $2,899.
