Samsung today announced the five new Series 9 laptop line that is scheduled to arrive for the back-to-school shopping season. The Series 9 laptops are designed to ultra-thin and lightweight which comes in five different configurations, two of the five Series 9 models have a 11.6-inch screen, while three models with a 13.3-inch display.

The two 11-inch Samsung Series 9 laptops are equipped with a 2GB or 4GB of RAM, a 64GB or 128GB SSD, and an Intel Core i3-2357M processor. The 11-inch models will be available in August for a base price of $1049 and $1249.

The entry-level three 13.3-inch models, Samsung Series 9 laptops are boasts an Intel Core i5-2467M or Core i7-2617M CPU, 4GB or 6GB of RAM, and a 128GB or 256GB hard drive. The 13-inch models are available now and ranging in price from $1,049 to $2,049.

All Series 9 models also feature an LED-backlit (1366 x 768) SuperBright display, a duralumin chassis, Intel integrated graphics, USB 3.0 port, and are pre-loaded with Microsoft’s Windows 7 Home Premium.

Toshiba has introduced two new laptops for the back to school season in Europe, namely the Satellite Pro S500-131 and Satellite Pro L670-172.

The Satellite Pro S500-131 has a 15.6-inch display with resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, as well as a 16:9 aspect ratio, 2GB of DDR3 memory, a DVD writer, LAN, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, and a battery life of up to 4 hours.

The Satellite Pro L670-172 with screen size of 17.3-Inch LED-backlit display with resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels. It has a 4GB of RAM, 10/100 LAN, WiFi, Bluetooth, a multi-gesture touchpad, a battery life of up to 4 and a half hours, and weights about 2.8kg.

Both models are comes with an Intel Core i3-350M (2.26 GHz) processor, Intel integrated graphics, a 320GB hard drive, and a DVD writer.

Costs of Toshiba Satellite Pro S500-131 and Satellite Pro L670-172 is €679 and €749, respectively. There is no word on released date.

Best Buy is offering the new Samsung Q430-11 laptop for $830. The Samsung Q430-11 is powerful enough for most students that need performance on multimedia applications as well as gaming.
