Asus has unveiled its 13.3-inch small and ultra-thin laptop, called the U36SD. This laptop is based on Intel’s Sandy Bridge processors, dedicated Nvidia graphics with Nvidia’s Optimus graphics switching technology, and Intel’s WiDi wireless video streaming technology.

The Asus U36SD laptop is boasts a 2.3GHz Intel Core i5-2410M or a 2.0GHz Core Core i7-2620mM processor, 4GB of DDR3 memory (1333 MHz), 640GB hard drive (5400rpm) or 160GB SSD, and Nvidia GeForce GT 520M discrete graphics with 1GB of GDDR3 video memory + Intel GMA 3000 HD graphics.

The Asus U36SD also packs an LED backlit display with a native resolution of 1366×768, a 0.3MP webcam, 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, a multi-format memory cards reader, a USB 3.0 port, an HDMI video output, a 8-cell battery, and pre-loaded with Windows 7 Professional operating system.

Dimensions of Asus U36SD are 328 x 238 x 19 mm and weigh 1.66kg.

The Asus U36SD 13.3-inch ultra-thin laptop in Europe is starting at €799.

Asus is now offering the U36 series laptop in the UK market, the U36JC-RX197X model. The U36 laptop is the world’s thinnest laptop with standard voltage Intel Core i5-460M/480M processor, a magnesium-aluminum alloy cover, just 19mm at the thickest point, and incredibly lightweight (1.44/1.6kg).

The Asus U36JC-RX197X laptop is equipped with a 13.3-inch LED-backlit display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixel, 4GB of DDR3 SDRAM, a 500GB hard drive (SATA 5400rpm), and a NVIDIA GeForce 310M graphics card with 1GB DDR3 VRAM (Optimus technology support).

Other notable specifications includes Altec Lansing speakers, a 0.3 megapixel webcam, a 5-in-1 card reader, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, VGA and HDMI output, and one USB 3.0 port. The Asus U36JC-RX197X is pre-loaded with Windows 7 Professional 64bit OS and pack an 4-cell or 8-cell battery for up to 10hrs of battery life.

The Asus U36JC-RX197X is priced at £699 inc VAT and is available now in-store and online from Micro Anvika.

The Asus U36JC-A1 is ultraportable laptop in a 0.75-inch magnesium shell, along with NVIDIA Optimus graphics, and a four-cell battery that promises ten hours of battery life.

Asus U36JC-A1 has feature a 13.3-inch 16:9 (1366 x 768) LED-backlit screen, Intel Core i5-460M CPU, NVIDIA GeForce 310M + Intel GMA HD graphics card, 2GB of system RAM, a 500GB 7200RPM hard disk, HDMI output, one USB 3.0 port, a 1.66kg weight, and Windows 7 Home Premium OS.

Asus has announced the new U36 ultra-portable notebook, featuring a 13.3-inch display with resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, an Intel Core i3 or i5 processor, a dual-heatpipe cooler, and has a aluminum magnesium alloy shell just 19mm thick and weight 1.44kg.

There are other features which includes an nVidia Optimus technology that automatically switch between integrated graphics and dedicated graphics card, and a 4-cell battery can provide up to 10 hours of operation.

There is no word on pricing or release date of Asus U36 notebook.
