Vodacom has launched the Vodafone Webbook in South Africans. It is to bring an affordable, a portable internet experience with the Ubuntu operating system with various software applications.

The Vodafone Webbook is a slim and lightweight design, weighing less than 1 kg. The Webbook features a 10-inch LCD screen, a 800 MHz Mx515 ARM Cortex A8 processor, 512MB of memory, 4GB of flash storage, a webcam and USB port.

The Vodacom Webbook is available now and starting at R1,499 (about $190).

Rover Computers has unveiled the RoverBook Steel budget netbook in Russia. The RoverBook Steel netbook is boasts a 640MHz RockChip 2818 processor, a 10-inch display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, 256MB of RAM, and 4GB flash storage.

The RoverBook Steel netbook comes equipped with Ethernet LAN, Wi-Fi, two USB 2.0 ports, a SD memory card slot, speakers, microphone, and built-in rechargeable battery. Its running on Android 2.1 operating system.

RoverBook Steel netbook is sold in Russia for costs around 7,500 rubles.

Hercules has released two new 10-inch eCAFÉ mobility netbooks. There are the eCAFÉ Slim HD and the eCAFÉ EX HD. The eCAFÉ Slim HD is slimmest and lightest netbook, scales at 1.9lbs and measuring only .8-inches thick, while the eCAFÉ EX HD netbook is incredibly compact at 1.1″ thick and 2.4 lbs, and 13 hours of battery life in real use conditions.

Both of them are powered by an ARM Cortex-A8 processor, a 10.1-inch (1024×600) LED-backlit display, 8 or 16GB of flash storage, 512MB of RAM, 802.11n WiFi, 0.3MP webcam, three USB ports, Ethernet, a card reader, and running on Linux operating system. The eCAFÉ EX HD model also offers HDMI output.

The eCAFÉ Slim HD and eCAFÉ EX HD will be available starting April 2011, at suggested retail prices of $229 and $269.

Samsung has announced the N150 Plus netbook in two new color schemes. The two new colors are white with a bright red display cover, and white with a pink cover.

The Samsung N150 Plus netbook is powered by a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, 10.1-inch LED-backlit display with resolution of 1024 x 600 pixel, 1GB of RAM, GMA 3150 integrated graphics, and a 250GB hard drive.

Olivetti has announced the Olibook Net104 and Olibook M1030 10-inch netbook at a trade show in Milan last week. The main difference is that the Olivetti Olibook Net104 has a 160GB hard drive, and a 6 cell battery while the Olibook M1030 has a 250GB HDD, and a 3 cell, 2200mAh battery.

The Olivetti Olibook M1030 and Olibook Net104 netbook is boasts Intel Atom N450 processor, 1GB of RAM, 802,11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth. Each has a 0.3MP webcam, 3 USB ports, and a VGA output, weigh about 2.2 pounds, and pre-loaded with Windows 7 Starter Edition OS.

Panasonic has announced the new Let’snote J9 portable notebook offers Intel’s 2.53GHz Core i5-460M processor. It’s got a 10-inch display whose native resolution is of 1,366 x 768 pixels.

It has packs a 2GB of RAM, a 128GB solid state drive, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, WiMAX, HDMI connector, two USB 2.0 port, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card slot. It is pre-installed with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Operating System.

There is also the CF-J9N, a version of the same notebook only with a hard disk drive of 160 GB, and a 2.4GHz Intel Core i3-370M CPU.

The Panasonic Let’snote J9 and the L512 will be available in Japan on October 15 for $2,140.

ASUS has introduced the Eee PC 1015PD netbook which is based on the Pine Trail platform. The Asus Eee PC 1015PD feature the Atom N455 (1.66 GHz) and N475 (1.83 GHz) processors, 1GB of DDR3 memory, up to 320GB of hard disk space, a 10.1-inch (1024 x 600) LED-backlit screen, and GMA 3150 graphics.

Toshiba has introduced its first ARM-based smartbook will be called the Toshiba AC100/dynabook AZ. The Toshiba AC100/dynabook AZ has features a 10.1-inch (1024 x 600) LED-backlit display, a 1GHz Tegra 250 SoC processor, 512MB of RAM, 8GB to 32GB flash storage, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, 10/100 Ethernet, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, and mobile broadband connectivity.
