Samsung Electronics America today announced the introduction of 30‐nanometer‐class1 DDR3 memory (DRAM) modules for desktops and notebooks. This new RAM modules are up to two‐thirds less energy than more common 60nm chips and 20 percent faster that its own 40nm ones.
THe Samsung’s new DDR3 DRAM modules are available in 2GB and 4GB modules capacities, in very low profile (VLP) UDIMMs for desktops and SO-DIMMs for notebooks, and up to 1600 MHz of memory clocks.
The Samsung’s 30nm memory modules will be available in single or dual‐pack quantities and price tags going from just under $30 to $110.
